Longing for Love?

Longing for Love? What am I doing wrong? What am I doing right? Am I attracting them or pushing them away?

What Do I Have To Prove?

How to make some earth-shattering changes that will attract the partner of your dreams.

By  Cimone-Louise Fung

Hello Beautiful Community,

Here is part 3 of the 10 part blog series: “Have you ever had to prove that you were right?”

There is nothing worse than feeling like we’re in the wrong. We’ve all experienced it; we’ve all felt it surround us when it happens; we’re fearful that it may return again.

Whatever age we are, sometimes that “proving” thing just keeps hangin’ around. Seeking our parents approval, recognition from the boss, friends opinions, the list goes on…

Now having reached 40, this is one thing I am not going to do anymore.

There is absolutely nothing for me to prove and if I keep reminding myself of that I return to peace.

If I let my ego control me, I am in this constant cycle of wanting attention, justifying my position and giving everyone a hard time in the process!

We have all experienced the tough interview. What you thought was to be an easy-going date turned into an interrogation. You may have only just met and already questions are flying. Suddenly, it’s hard work and you’re unsure as to why you are being drilled.  You see, their last relationship went wrong and now you are being punished.  They make you work for their approval and their attention. You see them ticking off items on the check-list in their head as they probe with their incessant questioning. By the end of the date, they have summed you up in a nutshell. Any reason not to like you, and boom, you’re gone!

Cimone-Louise Fung Say Yes To LoveWe like to be reassured, with proof, that the next relationship will be the ever-after fantasy. This energetic barrier of proving, sets up walls and conflict straight away: “Prove to me that you love me”; AND, “Prove to me that you’ll stick around”. It never stops.

Then if, for whatever reason, your demands are willingly met, you push them back. Crazy, hey?!

Often when you start receiving the ‘too much too good’ vibe, you start looking for the drama because actually receiving, and your ability to do so, makes you uncomfortable.

So let’s drop the ‘prove’ thing. It’s exhausting for the other person and it only serves to keep you locked up. What if there was absolutely nothing to prove? How would you feel then? How would your date or partner feel?

On this journey of life we think we are not good enough and that we have to keep doing all this work on ourselves. We are seeking others to love us. We will do anything we can not to get rejected one more time.

Cimone-Louise Fung Say Yes To LoveMy advice today – keep it really simple.

There will only ever be two emotions you will feel.

Love or fear:

Love will choose kindness, respect and harmony.

Fear will arrive angry, defensive and reactive.

Stop proving. You are wonderful.
